I just completed the Wagner Ring tour in Milan March 2026. It was incredible; the music of course, but also all the logistics, the hotel, the meals, and wonderful excursions. We toured the small town where Stadivari violins are displayed and listened to a concert with a violin over 300 years old. The violins need to be played to keep up the resonance and tone. The “ancient” violins displayed are worth over 100 million dollars and played regularly by concert professionals. Amazing. On my own I would never have discovered this gem. Then of course, the tour set up a unique visit to the medieval town Bergamo, with city walls and a church not to be missed! In addition, it is the birthplace of Donizetti and memorial museums. Next we visited the house of Verdi. So the music of Wagner was spectacular in La Scala, but the tour was sprinkled with musical fun and delights. Swati and Alister were gracious, warm, and entirely efficient! Anyone would be pleased and enchanted with this HAT tour in Milan.

Opera, a dramatic art form that seamlessly combines music, singing, acting, and often dance, has captivated audiences for over four centuries. This grand spectacle has evolved alongside changes in musical styles, cultural tastes, and artistic innovations.
Richard Wagner stands at the heart of classical music history. In 2026, 150 years of his monumental Ring Cycle celebrates four operas that transformed opera through epic scale, revolutionary orchestration, and mythic storytelling.
